My company is finally budgeting for proper corporate training and business coaching this year, and I've been tasked with shortlisting providers in India. Honestly overwhelming — every vendor website looks the same and promises the same outcomes.
We specifically need help with soft skills development (communication, feedback, leadership for mid-level managers) and improving overall employee performance. Not just a one-day workshop that everyone forgets by Thursday.
A few things I'm genuinely unsure about:
- How do you tell if a provider actually measures behavior change versus just sending a satisfaction survey?
- Does facilitator experience matter as much as curriculum design, or is it the other way around?
- What does good post-training reinforcement actually look like in practice?
- Is blended learning worth it for soft skills, or does in-person still win?
We're a mid-sized company, mixed team of about 200 people across functions. Budget exists but isn't unlimited — so I want to spend it where it actually moves performance metrics, not just checks an HR box.
Anyone gone through this recently? What worked, what was a complete waste, and what questions do you wish you'd asked before signing?
