Looking for Advice After a Cancer Diagnosis in the CAF
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for some advice from anyone who may have gone through a similar situation. I was on Course 1.1 but unfortunately did not complete it. After that, I was sent to MIR, where I underwent a series of medical examinations. During those examinations, I was diagnosed with cancer.
I’m now trying to understand what kind of support or benefits may be available to me as a CAF member. If anyone has been through something similar or has knowledge about the process, I would really appreciate your advice.
Specifically, I’m wondering:
- Am I eligible for any compensation or benefits?
- Are there any CAF or Veterans Affairs Canada programs that I should apply for? 3)What documents should I start collecting now? 4)Is there anything you wish you had known earlier?
Any advice or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.
