Prednisone

Excuse my ignorance.

Let’s say I’m feeling like crap (pain stiffness)and my rheumatologist tells me to take a pill and I feel better, does that more or less mean it’s a flare up?

Fairly new to my diagnosis

So I got my diagnosis, not too long ago. After a prednisone taper the doctor put me on hydroxychloroquine. Seems to be working. It seems like diet plays a significant part in this as well. I’m trying to figure it out.

I have lots of questions. But one specific one.

The doctor also gave me a prescription for prednisone and said that I should take it as I need it. I’m not a kid and she fully understands that. I understand that taking anything has consequences and I should take it as little as possible unless I need it if I really need it often we’re gonna have to change protocols. the understanding is that I take very little. Like one, or 2 then 1.

Thankfully it’s not really an issue. My question is….

If I’m only taking one, an isolated pill is taking one prednisone 5 mg better or is it better to take an “Aleve“
