First Time Upsizing Home
For people who upsized from their current principal residence, what did the real-life logistics look like?
This would be our first time. The plan is to sell our current home and use the equity toward a bigger home, since that seems like the only realistic option unless we’re missing something.
What stresses us out is the gap period. We’d likely need to sell first, then find and close on the next place afterward since the sale proceeds would be needed for the next down payment. That gap could be weeks or even months.
For people who went through this, how did you handle it realistically? Especially with kids, two people working in person, and no family in the city to stay with.
Did you end up doing short-term rentals, storage, multiple moves, etc.? Would appreciate hearing real experiences and anything you wish you knew beforehand.
