Is 2+ Years in PR Security Screening Actually Normal in Canada Now?

Title: Is 2+ Years in PR Security Screening Actually Normal in Canada Now?
My PR application entered security screening in Jan 2024. More than 2 years later, it’s still “in progress” with no meaningful updates.
Medical, biometrics, criminality etc. all passed long ago. I contacted IRCC many times, filed ATIPs with CBSA, even went through the CSIS review process. Eventually I was told CSIS had already completed its part months ago — but IRCC still says “Security in Progress.”
Meanwhile my family and I already live in Canada, bought a home here, work, pay taxes, and raise our kids here. The uncertainty has honestly become mentally exhausting.
The more I look into this, the more I realize there are many people stuck 3–5+ years in security screening with little transparency or timeline. There are even rallies now in Ottawa, Vancouver, and Toronto around this issue.

Has anyone here actually gone through prolonged security screening and eventually gotten approved?
Did anything help? MP inquiry? Mandamus? ATIP? Or is it really just endless waiting now?
