Albums I Want To Be Buried With

This post will be updated and act as a living document for the music that impresses itself into my memory. Share your thoughts and recommendations below.

I will start wt Jpeg Mafia " I Lay Down My Life For You"

This album was my first intro to Jpeg and let me say I was taken back and sat down lol. It starts with gritty, experimental rock rap music, pulling from DC and detroit sounds. It is unabashedly raw, aggressive and self deprecating but in a cocky fun way. The last four songs on this album though is where the masterpiece emerges. His ability to be so introspective and reflective with such range and on such beautifully produced tracks, not to mention the magic the Buzzy Lees vocals add to the production. The last song "Don't put anything on the bible" sends chills down my spine and makes me cry everytime when they cut the vocals antibiotics and your all the sudden immersed in an underwater canal, like being born again. which he transitions into his last track, which feels so intimate. He exudes his life experience, and what it's like to work on a creative project while managing life love and relationships. As someone who grew up with a musician father, artist mother and had children with a music producer, the story and struggle of putting your music out there and also get paid and make a living is such a unique journey filled with ups and downs and this song encapsulates that experience with power.
