Food Traditions

Hello Everyone,
I am 7 months into my conversion and I am enjoying the process my community and the learnings. I have a question, my language is food.. and in exploring the Jewish culinary tradition I am finding it vast and spans the globe. I am looking to explore my journey through culinary expression and I was hoping I could reach out to everyone for support. I am finding it difficult to hone in on specific regions, the choices are so varied. I was hoping I could get some direction on food Authors, websites or even family favourites that I could use to help build my recipe database. I would love to hear specifically what people’s go to dish is and why. I’m hoping that food will help me connect even further to my new traditions that I want to build going forward.
Thank you everyone for this little bit of info, I’m hoping it will make a difference in my journey!

While I recognize so many posts are negative in nature I wanted to reach out with my experience.

I am presently in the back half of my year of classes towards my conversion to Judiasm. I chose this path because my spouse is Jewish and we recently had a life event that pushed him towards reconnecting with his faith. While were were experiencing this event I was significantly touched by the outpouring of support from his family, the synagogue and people we had never met before.

This opened a door for me from a community and a spiritual perspective and I, embracing change started this journey.

My experinces with my sponsor, my synagogue and everyone I have met have been some of the most positive experiences in my life and I have quickly come to feel that this is my new home.

I have at times felt we are surrounded by negativity, and I struggle at times to understand some of the reactions I've received when I communicate my path, I still feel hopeful for the future.

I was just hoping that my quick story would help some people see that the great things I see in our community and not be overwhelmed by the feelings of those trying to drag us down.

No response or comments are needed. I just thought sharing would be nice.
