Has anyone survived a performance improvement plan as an MLS?

I work in a small esoteric department, flow cytometry on evenings. A nearby hospital recently sold its lab to quest and a few people got let go. Rumor is one of them is my supervisors friend and she's trying to get her a job here, but there are no openings.

Part of the PIP is that I am not a team player, but I work alone on my shift and leave detailed end of shift logs. I do not understand what is being asked of me.

Should I start looking for another job.
