3 days post shave. Can I grow a semi-respectable goatee?

I am a late bloomer and don’t have strong facial hair genetics. I tried to grow it out a few years ago but the follicles were thin and wispy. They have developed a lot since then, but I am unsure if it is enough. Am I better off clean shaven?
