One of my dearest friends of 5 years was kicked out by her father months ago and has been homeless since. She has a job, but it only pays $11/hr and isn't nearly enough for her constant fees (school, food, hygiene, etc.)
Originally she was homing with an older sibling and their partner until the older sibling kicked her out. Now in the recent month, she has been going from house to house each day by bus, uber, walking, any means etc.
For around 4 nights I secretly housed her until my parents found out and contacted her step-mother where my mom left her at her house and of course her step-mom also kicked her out as usual.
(1. Step-mom feels no attachment for her cause bio-kid, bloodline, blablabla)
(2. Step-mom has a lease agreement that limits guests for the period of days they can stay before being added to the lease as an inhabitant, which is a fee she can't and refuses to afford.)
STUPIDLY, imo. My parent made this decision in which the step-mom stated on writing (text message) that the dad doesn't wish for my friend to be housed anywhere. Which legally and unshakeably probably classifies her as a runaway.
Meaning instead of me being able to sneak her in, making the misdemeanor of harboring a runaway fall on me. Now they don't have PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY for that.
She has been getting by going house-to-house, but of course as high schoolers in our fancy rich-ish school, many kid's parents don't want to house a homeless teen girl. Cause that screams felony.
So with that said, PLEASE give genuine recourses on where she can sleep at night. No, she cannot return to her step-mom. No, she cannot reconcile with her father. There is screenshot evidence of him kicking her and her sibling out with threats to kill them.
Just needs to be private and lockable. Maybe hopefully cheap. But no shelters, youth-homes, group homes, etc. Those are full of sleazy trafficker creeps and she only has a year before she can be free of the runaway lable. SO PLEASE provide advice.
Tldr; hg is homeless. she needs resources that don't involve shelters bcuz we all know those would traffick the fuck out of a cute teen girl.
