Is it common practice to not ring the door bell when delivering a parcel? Can any parcel delivery workers shed some light?
Also, why do packages get left in a location that is extremely visible to the public when there is clearly a "safe" place next to the front door to leave it?

I can understand if there is no doorbell but in my case, the doorbell is CLEARLY visible yet only AusPost and maybe 2% of other delivery drivers use it. As for leaving the packages out in the open - you've walked all the way to my door, leave it behind the bloody plant pot!
