I just finished my third marathon with a PB, but missed my target by over 10 minutes. I had a great time so not really disappointed, but would like to figure out how to take the next step.

I've felt great in each of my marathons, never struggling for energy or breath, but had my quads quit on me. I could battle through, but the best I could manage was well short of my target pace (4.55/km). I felt really good about training so thought I could come closer to 3.30 than I did (ended on 3.44).

Any advice on what I need to do next? I'm wondering if it is something I need to fix in the gym, but would appreciate any advice on anything else I should consider. For context, I'm 46M and at 93kg I don't exactly have an ideal body shape for endurance sport. I've used Runna for my training programme.
