I have a 16 year old snowshoe, and I'm getting a little concerned that she may have some form of dementia.

Over the past few months she's had a few strange behaviors. It stated with her walking into a dark room and yelling. She's a very quiet cat normally, so it was startling the first few times. If I go to the room and turn the light on, she'll come over for pets then walk out of the room. Lately I've noticed that she'll be in a bright room and start yelling looking at a corner. When I walk into the room, she'll look startled for a second then get super affectionate, almost like she was lost and I found her?

Also, she's had a couple personality changes. She never really liked to be picked up, but now, if she could live on my shoulder she would. She also really hated getting wet. The couple times I've had to give her a bath, she acted like she was dying. Now, she loves the bathroom sink. She demands to be put on the counter when Im in there (she cant make the jump anymore), and that i turn on the faucet. She's drinks from it, plays in it, puts her head under the stream, and purrs the whole time. I have a regular water bowl and a fountain that she uses, so I dont think its a fresh water thing. She genuinely seems to love it.

So, does she has dementia, or is she just being an adorable weirdo? She's otherwise fairly healthy. She has well managed hyperthyroidism and high blood pressure, no eye problems, and no arthritis.

TIA
