Can one say Youtsuba manga portrays hard life of ordinary people?

Can one say Youtsuba manga portrays hard life of ordinary people or am I reading too much into it? Of course it's not entirely about that but there are some moments subtly hinting at everyday difficulties of ordinary people, I think. Just wanted to know if someone also ever felt that way.
