Black Remote BCBAs

Hey, I don't know how many black remote BCBAs come to reddit, but I was wondering if it is easier with the whole being black thing if you are virtual. As far as parent meetings and interacting with the clients go.

Copping A Feel

With non-verbal kiddos and even the verbal kiddos, a lot of the staff in my clinic want to hug them because they're so cute. I don't know why this makes me feel uncomfortable to watch. Am I in the wrong here?

Crazy Thought

This is a total crazy thought, but let's indulge it just for a second. What if the BCBA exam is different depending on the person taking it? Is that really a zero percent possibility?

BCBA inebriated

The title pretty much sums it up. The BCBA was observably inebriated it seems during our case review of a client. It was virtual (client wasn't present).

BACB naughtiness

Something spooky is happening with my RBT renewal. They're saying the didn't receive the updated RBT recertification form, but I very clearly uploaded it. I send an email and have to wait up to a week for a reply. How is this appropriate?

When BCBAs talk to physicians (DO or MD)

Is there a feeling of inadequacy? Like when you, I don't know go for a checkup yourself, or talk to a physician as it relates to your work as a behavior analyst. Do they talk to you like they are better, or do you feel like they do?

My Remote BCBA makes me laugh

It's just too hilarious how little interaction they have with the newly assigned client that I literally, can't stop laughing during my "supervisions."

ABA Jobs Vs. Non-ABA jobs

Biology major here. I used to do ABA work in the interim and previously got my RBT. I apply for five RBT jobs after graduating and sometimes I get responses the same day in all of them. I apply for five lab tech jobs I get maybe one response. I get why people want to escape this field. No matter how many times we lie to ourselves the truth is we are just babysitters with extra steps. That is why employers will hire you if you have a pulse.
