I hear the comment that after the breakup of the band Paul wanted to deviate from the classic beatles style of music. I get how this applies to RAM, but with how diverse the beatles were I could see them making some of the songs on Band on the Run and many of Paul's love songs.
If the answer is that he didn't make the same kind of magical or imaginative songs like Magical Mystery Tour, Eleanor Rigby, maybe She's Leaving Home etc, how does that apply to songs like I Will and Martha My Dear?
In your minds, what elements make up 'the beatles style of music' as opposed to Paul work post 1970? I'm genuinely curious.
