After fiddling with 3D prints and trying to arrange my bottles, I finally settled on a setup where the bottles fit together nicely, but I wouldn't mind hearing some opinions about the design.
Context: The top bottle will be replaced by a profile design torpedo flipped around, and the top bottle cage will go to the bottom bottle, because that cage is just terrible. And, since reaching for the bottle on the downtube is a little bit more tricky now (I feel a bit less stable on my TT-fitted road bike than before), I'm more comfortable reaching for a BTA bottle. I will probably keep the bottle cage on the downtube for races (training for a 70.3) to have a third slot though.
Some questions I have:
- Is the top bottle sticking out too much? It now reaches quite far above my arms, but I can lower it much before the other bottle will have to move back
- Should I put a 3D printed fairing in front of the profile design torpedo, or are my hands high enough that that area doesn't really matter?
- Is having 3D printed parts (from PETG) just a bad idea overall? So far, the spacers and platform have been very sturdy and rigid.
