My father went into hospice on Wednesday, April 22, and passed away on Monday, April 27. I have been caring for him at home for 14 years, as he battled dementia and parkinsonism. Losing him has left me devastated, and now I am facing the overwhelming challenge of covering his final bills and expenses. On top of that, I am at risk of losing the only home my son and I have ever known because of a reverse mortgage. I need at least a down payment to qualify for an FHA loan and keep our house.
My son is 10 years old, autistic, and has ADHD. This house is his safe space, and staying here will give him the stability he needs, especially during this difficult time. Keeping our home will also allow him to remain in the school he is familiar with and give us both a safe place to grieve and heal. I have poured my heart into caring for my dad, and now I am asking for help so that my son and I do not lose our home, too.
Any support you can offer would mean the world to us. Your kindness will help us keep our home and give my son the security he needs as we try to move forward after losing my father. Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can give.
Hey, I started this fundraiser on GoFundMe. It would mean a lot to me if you could donate or share with others. Any kind of help makes a difference and gets me closer to my goal. Thanks so much.
