Who are these younguns in the Pacific Northwest?

They got another few days to finish this party before garbage pickup.

I’m still a beginner at this, and things are going fine rocks-wise, but machine-wise the nut on the front barrel creeps toward the top cover. As you can see in the first pic, there’s not a lot of clearance. The first time I fired it up I came back 10 mins later and apparently the nut had caught on the edge of the cover because the the whole barrel had rotated out of the base and was jamming the shafts. Glad I was checking because the garage reeked like burning electronics.

I let it cool off and set things back up, and put a piece of 1/4” plywood under the front so it’s tipped slightly back, and hot glued a piece of denim where the rear barrel makes contact, as you can see in the second pic. I used a level and it was pretty much perfectly level the first time.

Is there a better solution to this? After my first few phase 1s it’s been seeming like there is a lot of thick mud at the bottom of the front barrel so I’m wondering if the grit is settling due to the tilt. But I’d rather deal with that than a fire.
