One thing I learned from watching documentaries about planes and the Space Shuttle is that paint adds a surprising amount of weight. That’s one reason many aircraft are left unpainted or minimally painted, to save weight. It makes me wonder how much tonnage a MechWarrior could free up by leaving their BattleMech unpainted.
