These turrets are arranged so an enemy would enter the range of as many nuke turrets of differing quality at once independent of the direction it approaches from.

Even if you only use up to rare rocket turrets, that would be around 21 nukes fired within 4 tiles of enemy movement. And thanks to the generous 50% extra range with nukes, the enemy would have to cross 19 tiles of distance before impact to cause any friendly fire incidents.
