As per the title: I've been running V20 for a year now. My players and I were wondering if there is anything in the rules about choosing to voluntarily limit the degree of success that you exercise with an attack, damage roll, discipline, etc.

The specific situation is a Malkavian using Dementation 1: Passion. They don't want to chance impacting the target for more than an evening, so they'd like to limit their successes to no more than that. I said I was fine with that, despite my heart saying, "Sometimes being too good has interesting consequences. Teach them not to reach too far."

Was just curious what people more experienced than me might know or remember! Thank you in advance!
