Hi,

Not asking for advice re injury treatment, I've already endured physio strengthening, rest, and been told to wear a gel knee brace when I resume running, but mentally, I'm struggling to get back into it now that I'm permitted to return to running.

I was running 1 10k a week, a fast 5k, and a moderate 5.5-8k each week. The mental block is the dread of finishing a run and having the pain from patellofemoral pain syndrome (runners knee) again. The pain wasn't excruciating, but it was bothersome and limiting.

Don't know what I need, don't know whether I should start running from the start again completely. I was so angry to have to stop - I was progressing really nicely.
