Recent allegations raised by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna and others regarding the reported seizure or withholding of MK-Ultra and JFK-related declassification materials have generated significant public concern about transparency, intelligence-community oversight, and compliance with congressional and executive declassification directives.
Some lawmakers and commentators have characterized these events as evidence of institutional resistance within elements of the intelligence apparatus, while the CIA and ODNI have publicly disputed aspects of those claims.
Supporters of the “internal coup” theory, including Sen. Rand Paul, have suggested these actions may reflect broader resistance by elements of the so-called “deep state” to congressional mandates involving sensitive historical and medical research, including questions surrounding COVID-19 origins.
As a former federal prosecutor and public official familiar with national-security and executive-authority matters:
Do you believe these allegations warrant a full independent investigation, compulsory preservation of records, sworn testimony under oath, and public disclosure regarding the handling of these materials?
Do you believe there is legitimacy to concerns that unelected institutional actors may be obstructing lawful congressional or executive oversight?
