Hear me out.
Forget TVK vs DMK, the emotions, the celebrity worship, the people's mandate etc. for a moment.
All these people who say Vijay will come and root out the systemic corruption and problems inherent in the system are either drinking kool-aid or are actually naiive to believe it.
The problems of law and order, safety, corruption under DMK are institutionally entrenched within the system.
Vijay has fielded the same crop of MLAs and representatives who have plenty of criminal cases on them, people who abet corruption.
This can't be rooted out by just changing administration, to root out these systemic problems, a massive administrative and institutional overhaul is needed - basically a revolution is required - and no, this is not that.
The same corrupt money hungry MLAs will do the same thing as any politician before them - you think Vijay will fight his own men and rule with an iron fist and bring that change about?
He will lose their support in a heartbeat.
This is not a movie where one guy comes in, waves his hand and everything is fixed.
This is a behemoth state with 70 crore people and $350bn economy (akin to running a country like Vietnam/Thailand) with deeply entrenched systemic problems.
No, this is not better than what DMK was doing - this is not the 'maatram' that will happen.
Think about this rationally, the next 5 years is going to be more of the same thing, just a different flavour, with slower development and weaker fight for our Tamil identity vs BJP in the centre.
That's a net loss, not a gain.
