Hi everyone, has anyone else been heavily taxed while on maternity leave? My employer receives my maternity benefit directly and continues paying my normal salary through payroll.

Since starting maternity leave, Revenue moved me to Week 1/Month 1 basis and massively reduced my tax credits and standard rate band because of the maternity benefit estimate.

My net pay dropped by around €600. Did anyone else go through this and did Revenue correct it during the year? Trying to figure out whether this is normal maternity leave taxation or if something is wrong.
