in case anyone is wondering how being allergic to pretty much everything in my healing so far is going🫠

12 DPO — i already have a skin reaction to adhesive (went into surgery with a big red bracelet that said “ADHESIVES” on it, but they still used glue and tegaderm bandages..), so that made drains a lot rougher than they needed to be. dressings also caused a skin reaction. now, i developed a reaction to the bacitracin AND neosporin that caused hives spreading to my neck and arms. i’m taking zyrtec daily alongside prescribed methylprednisone. hope this all goes away soon or im going to run out of anti-itch cream LOL

anyone else develop a reaction to bacitracin?

been applying bacitracin 2x a day since getting my dressings off on tuesday (it is now friday) and have developed rashes (?) on my neck, chest, and upper arms. anyone else experience this? my surgeon said to stop applying bacitracin, maybe switch to neosporin or something similar in the meantime.

is this sebderm or something else?

i’ve had really flaky and red skin + dandruff since i was about 11 (worst around my nose and forehead), and, since i got a major surgery last week, it has gotten substantially worse. i know a reddit diagnosis is not a dermatologist diagnosis, but i was hoping to be pointed in the right direction

dressings and drains out! CW: photo of them removing my nipple bolsters

1 week post-op, finally got my drains taken out (thank god). the removal was pretty painless, but i got a little lightheated after, probably from nerves. i also got my dressings and nipple bolsters removed. it hurt when they pulled out the staples on my bolsters, but i feel great now that it is over. having my drains out has improved my mood substantially. i also got a smaller sized binder to help with my swelling.

2 days post op, is this normal?

i get really bad health anxiety and top was my first major surgery, so i’m just looking for some reassurance here. my drain sites are reallyyyy itchy and sore, and my chest feels pretty tight to the extent that i can’t open my child-proof pill bottles. it also strains my chest if i breathe in really deeply 🫠
this is all very new to me so i was hoping that someone would be able to ease my worries
