Allies ground army comps to suit mass air

I like to play mass air with the Allies doctrine, but am not too sure about which ground units to use with it. Playing mass air means that I inevitably have a smaller ground army, so huge rocket artillery stacks don't work that well. The traditional, heavily mechanised build with mech inf, TD and SP arty is simply too oil-heavy, and it seems unnecessary to have both SP arty AND TD countering heavy armour. Only one is needed.

After a bit of looking at stats and resources, I have figured that one big rocket artillery stack and a few stacks of 10 mech. inf + 5TD, with plenty of ACs as scouts/runners is the best option.

But there is one problem that I have never understood: What do I do with my starting units? I can't just throw them away in early expansion, so I chose to put it into one rocket artillery stack with the other 5 infantry just doing nothing or taking care of runners in my core provinces. The rocket artillery stack doesn't usually see much action, so I often contemplate not forming one. But then, where do my starting inf go? It's like a paradox (that I've overcomplicated myself)

One thing is for sure: I'm overthinking this. Yet my attitude toward this game forces me to make actual stacks because I dont trust a small stack of inf going around with inadequate AA/AT.

Wtf should I do?

As per title. The game is very centred around artillery stacks and planes, so that is probably the biggest use of infantry. The only other use would maybe be to defend cores alongside AA and AT, but that can also be overcome by a good tank/artillery stack.
