1-week travel with kids - August/September

Hello brains trust,

I've booked for our family (2 adults + 2 kids aged 10 and 8) our first trip to Tasmania. We'll be flying in Sunday 30 August and out Sunday 6 September. We know this won't be our last or only trip to Tasmania so we're not looking to cram everything in and would prefer to just focus on a couple of areas. Our preference is to stay in the same hotel as a base for exploring the area.

My rough plan at the moment is something like:

1 night Hobart

2 nights somewhere along the north-west coast

2 nights Cradle Mountain

2 nights Hobart

Our must-dos in the north west are Cradle Mountain and Hellyer's Road Distillery. It seems like we are going to have the best experience of Cradle Mountain if we stay close by which is why I'm looking at the 2-nights there.

Along the north-west coast I was looking at staying in Burnie, but am open to considering other options if there is a better place to base ourselves for those 2 nights.

I'd welcome any thoughts or suggestions anyone is willing to share!

Without going into too many details here, I have an issue that I genuinely believe constitutes unconscionable conduct by a service provider. It relates to a service that involves children. And it's a systemic issue that has impacted a large number of customers of the service.

I have been trying to have it investigated through multiple agencies that have oversight on this service. But I'm not really getting anywhere.

My next step is to speak to a community legal service for advice. But since they're not available now until Monday, I thought I'd try reaching out to the trusty ole reddit community to see if anyone has any experience in something like this who might be able to share any information or advice that I can ruminate on over the weekend.

ETA: I am not looking for advice on the issue itself. I don't need confirmation of the validity of the case. It's a very specific set of circumstances and the service provider is already aware that I am making noise. I don't want to risk doxxing myself by sharing more detailed information.

I was hoping for advice on the mechanisms and processes for pursuing a business for unconscionable conduct.

If you don't want to or can't offer any advice or information that's fine, go ahead and jog right on.
