My issue with "fat" FL dramas.
I have such a love hate relationship with the dramas that have a "fat" FL. Like there was one I just saw about a mafia wife and she took charge of the house, commanded respect, stood up for the children, etc. It was amazing to see such a powerful, confident woman as a plus sized character.
But then of course, like every other drama, she goes to get "stronger" and looses a bunch of weight and now probably fits into a size 2. 🙄
Why can't they just tone tf up??!!
Honestly, the mafia one would've been sooo much better if she would've toned up and gained muscle, then just shedding all the weight completly. (And more realistic of a womans weight loss journey tbh) Just because a person has thicc thighs and weighs over 170 lbs doesn't always mean they're overweight. And just because you have a flat stomach and a thigh gap doesn't always mean you're healthy either.
Sometimes I wish they would just keep the FL as a plus sized individual. If they want to get "healthier" or "stronger" they can do so, but still leave them with a little meat on their bones. I always feel bad in Asian dramas especially when they end up swapping out the character entirely when she's lost a bunch of weight. And half the time the AI skinny version looks completely different too.
I just want the FL lead to be able to find love, self love, gain respect, and confidence while still being plus sized/a lil chubby/ fat/ HEALTHY/curvaceous in all the right places whatever they want to call themselves.
