Xylitol and my mouth question

Would of been so much better if I knew about xylitol when I was a child but Dr Ellie had to randomly pop out in a short and only now explain to me that this helps. Anyway, better late than never.

I have been using xylitol for almost 2 weeks now. About 10 days. Granular and mints. I have taken 6-9 grams daily and practiced mouth resting afterwards as Dr Ellie suggests.

I have noticed that my mouth, particularly when I don't eat that it feels like something Is sticky, specially where I have plaque, or between the teeth. It's not smooth, it's like my tongue is struggling to slide through those areas. Is that because of xylitol? And is that good cause it's basically destroying the plaque? Or the tartar? Can xylitol even break tartar?

Tonight I pushed my finger though 2 teeth because I felt something about there. And as I pushed with my nail, it felt like some grass that was cracking. I stopped for a second but after that I pushed again and something broke, and it made a sound when it broke and I had it in my hand. Not I don't know if it's tartar or if it's a piece of a tooth. People that have started using xylitol has this happened to you? Can you eliminate even the tartar if you use it for very very long time?
