I just got it so I don’t have any time on the water, but I love the simple brilliance of this thing. Next step is to build out a rod to fit it. If anyone is interested in learning the process to obtain this unicorn of a reel, I can do a write up in the comments. It’s not hard, but it’s not easy either.
I’m about to build out a NFC P7000 X-ray as a trout/panfosh spinng rod. It’ll be my first spinning build. I’m stuck between a “normal” modern Fuji train either alconite or torzite, or going ATs to KTs, or using a microwave stripper/reduction to KTs. Any advice is appreciated on the guide train or otherwise.
I also have another P7000 and a P700 epitome that I will build into bfs rods soon. I love catching big fish on little rods..it’s what I’m used to working with, ya know.
