Nursing chairs?? Old Town, FL USA

I bought these chairs a couple years ago at a local flea market. The lady that was selling them had zero info on them. Since I bought them I have tried to find out as much as possible but I'm not getting very far. One person told me that they were called "nursing chairs" and were used while administering medication to children mostly during epidemics/pandemics and such. But another person told me that they were considered paper mache chairs. I'd like to get as much information about these as I can. The smallest chair is 30in in height and the taller chair is 35 inches in height. They're very small and they have really intricate artwork on them. They don't look identical but they do look like they belong together. If anybody can please explain more about these to me I would be extremely grateful.

Nursing chairs? Old Town, FL, USA

So, I purchased these tiny chairs a few years ago from a lady at a local flea market for $40. I felt like I was underpaying the woman but that's all she asked for so I gave her the money. For the past couple years, I have tried to find out more about these chairs but I'm not really getting very far. I was told at one time that they were considered "nursing chairs" from the late 1800s and were used to administer medication to children especially during the epidemic.I was also told by another person that they were considered paper mache chairs. There are very intricate designs on the backs of each chair. It doesn't really look like it's paint so I'm not sure how it was done. I'm mostly just curious if they're worth anything. And what they were really used for. The smallest chair is 30in in height while the other chair is 35in in height. The makers mark is J. H.
