This has really helped me be more patient in my runs and has allowed me to recognise the attacks and dodge

I discovered if you open the book of shadows whilst an npc goes comes down the timer pauses but the world around you doesn't. This means for any NPC like Icarus, Nemesis, Heracles and Artemis you don't need to wait for them to come after you have killed every enemy and the timer is unpaused. This also works for seeing a door rewards.

Never had a rivals fight that lasted that little time.
I also got reckless abandon + air quality on an attack that naturally did 24 per hit funny synergy

Did it with aspect of Anubis and abused rerolls at beginning of surface to get 9 hera boons

Got an amazing king's ransom + pom pom pom

Getting 5x damage shreds everything
