Inguinal hernia nerve pain?

Any advice is helpful :) I have a small inguinal hernia on the right side which has been there for two years. I’m not sure how it formed but developed severe nerve pain all around my hips, legs, lower back, glutes, groin on both sides. It was like a system wide nerve flare around the hernia. I went to get it checked and the doctor said I have a small hernia in the area. Over the last two years I’ve had several flares of this nerve pain in all those areas but usually settles after a couple of months, however it’s stripped me of my life. I didn’t initially know what was causing it until I found out about the small hernia a few weeks ago. Has anyone else been through a similar experience? This isn’t just single nerves but more lots of different ones at the same time flaring with allodynia on the skin. It’s been a very painful journey. If so, did surgery fix the situation? I don’t seem to get any pain from the actually hernia itself and have done a lot of strengthening around the area of the last coupe of years but the nerve flares persist. From what I can remember, both the hernia lump and nerve flares appeared and started at the same time. They can start simply just from touching a nerve too heavily.
I don’t want to get a small hernia that doesn’t cause any pain specifically if it won’t change the nerve pain. Maybe it could be my nervous system. Any information would be helpful to hear. Thank you.
