Establish a Gateway monument in Murrieta to honor the city’s identity

Temecula Valley! I’m glad to share this potential opportunity for a monument project to honor Murrieta with the upcoming Highway 395 recreation project along Jefferson ave.

For those unaware, Wildomar and Murrieta are redefining their shared border due to private development in Wildomar that intends to connect Palomar Street directly to Jefferson Ave. In doing so, Murrieta intends to widen the current 2 lane pinch created by local ranch property frontages, including my families property located at 23590 Jefferson Ave.

As the largest and most cumbersome part of the project for the city, our frontage creates a unique obstacle that inevitably will be widened with a retaining wall to accommodate this four lane highway frontage route that will run along the 15 freeway and act as a recreation of old highway 395 (defined in Murrieta’s general plan as CIR-A2). In order to prevent yet another weed ridden retaining wall, I ask that you review this petition and if it resonates please sign!

As an added bonus of heritage and legacy, this project sits directly opposite of the Old Town Arches in Temecula, a project my father proudly participated in as a local fabricator welder back in the 90’s. By creating this monument on the opposite end of Jefferson ave, Murrieta has the opportunity to bring together local history, champion heritage and identity, as well as create a future forward identity that is highly visible and unique to our region. A true “gem of the valley” for our Western Border.

Please consider signing and supporting this monument project!

Thank you!
