Did ya'll have difficulties adopting a low-fat and low-cholesteral diet after a Cardiac event?
My husband experienced a widowmaker MI last weekend. He's 85% back to himself with no complications we know of. Here's the thing. We are changing our diet to a low fat & low cholesterol diet. Hubby is doing it, but he is less than enthused. He doesn't complain verbally, he just appears less enthusiastic about meals now. He's also lost about 5-10 lbs.
I am adopting the new diet along with him, but I've always eaten a better diet, so adding veg to his plate and cutting down or cutting out somethings are easy peasy for me. I am happily suprised with the plant based butter and canola oil. Low cholesterol mashed potatoes are not that different from regular.
What are your experiences? Any tips or tricks you can share?
