I got diagnosed with lupus last June. I started on the core elimination diet this February. I completed 3 months in May and started reintroducing foods. It's been an absolute disaster! I've had severe reactions of fatigue, depression, anxiety, joint pain and insomnia. At this point, I'm unable to call anything a reaction, because this has become my baseline state. What do I do? How do I recover and how on earth do I reintroduce foods? I've been as careful as I could possibly be.
Any help, advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone on here is an AIP coach, I'd be most grateful if you could DM me your details. Thank you! 💕
I have in my collection an 1871 edition of Bacon's Essays and Colours of Good and Evil in poor condition. It doesn't have a dust jacket and seems like it might have been rebound.
I also have a 1937 printing of Gone with the Wind. It's a first edition, but not a first print. It's in very good condition, but doesn't have a dust jacket.
Finally, I have first editions of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. They both say "first edition" but don't have number lines. They're both British editions with dust jackets intact. They're in very good condition.
I've looked them up and I can't find this specific edition of Bacon's Essays. My editions of Gone with the Wind and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows aren't terribly valuable, but I'm not so sure about Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Are these particular books worth taking special care of -- glass cabinet, archival sleeves? Thank you!
I have an inherited collection that I'm decluttering. Among the books I want to keep, there are some vintage paperbacks in poor condition -- some have loose pages, some have the covers detached or almost detached from the books, some have covers missing, and some have damaged spines. I want to keep these books, partly for sentimental reasons and partly because they're unusual books. What's the best way of preserving them? I found a book restoring expert in my city, but he never answers his phone. The other options would be to keep them in ziplock bags, get them bound, or leave them as they are. Or perhaps someone knows how I can repair them at home. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
My Tibetan acupuncturist has very lovingly obtained a herbal medicine for lupus for me from overseas. The second-last ingredient is a seed. Do I take it? I'm on day 100 of elimination. I'm putting off reintroduction because I'm tapering my steroid. Thanks!
I'm 99 days into elimination. I have lupus. I accidentally consumed dairy about 2 months in and had a severe reaction. Also, I discovered that a few supplements I've consumed during this period have contained small amounts of seed oils.
My fatigue and joint pain are better. Neuropathy, dizziness, and double vision are better. I'm able to work out at the gym again, which is huge!!! But I've developed breathlessness and chest pain during this time. My chest CT scan is normal. Also my cholesterol has worsened.
I'm confused about whether it's time to reintroduce. I'm in the process of tapering my steroid, so I don't know if this is the ideal time. I started going to the gym only three days ago. And it's going well so far. And, the chest pain and another muscular pain on the left side of my upper body are bothering me.
