Workerscomp 3 months in
I was with this security company for 12 years
Was a supervisor for 5 years . I slipped and took a hard fall at work due to another company cleaning and forgetting the wet floor sign etc.
Fast fwd they bring you to a lil doctor of course they say nothing is wrong but my knees were on fire . Slipped on a hard floor ..... fast fwd a few days later I get a MRI and my knee is swollen full of fluid and my hip was inflamed so that was swollen ( the band that holds hip together)
So they put me on crutches and currently cannot work.
Crutches to keep the pressure off my right side because I walk with a limp due to injury
Okay in the mist of going through this pain ....APRIL 1ST I was fired = NO ONE FROM MY JOB CALLED BEFORE HAND TO SEE IF OR WHEN I WAS COMING BACK but I sent excuses from my doctor.... They fired me and stated it was no where to place me ( DIDNT EVEN KNOW I WAS ON CRUTCHES)
I had to get a lawyer because dealing with workerscomp is a nightmare . Only goodthing out of this is im still able to pay my bills with weekly compensation.
Come to find out if have a 3rd party claim from who caused the accident.
Currently in therapy and I feel like the Ortho is trying to rush me off . I can't stand for long periods of times and im in pain EVERYDAY!
Im currently in a AT WILL state so I assume the termination was valid, but at will states say they can't fire you from your work injury. They didn't even offer light duty or asked if I could perform the job . I filed EEOC but I have no clue on what im about to say due to being in a AT WILL STATE ughhh
I hate all of this for me ! I would give anything to be bk to normal
