Help with iMessage
So I bought myself a brand new iPhone 17 in the beginning of the month (Upgrade from my iPhone 13- same number) From the beginning I was not able to connect my number to iMessage or FaceTime.
I have factory reset my phone, updated iOS, reset network settings, done the whole turn iMessage and FT on and off, waiting some days, every troubleshooting solution I could find I have tried. Activation error pops up. Even tried switching to an e-sim, that didn’t work. Switched back to a regular sim, that also didn’t help.
I took it to the electronics store where I bought it (huge electronics chain located in Scandinavia), they sent it to repair for almost 3 weeks. Got it back, still doesn’t work. the diagnosis was «its a software issue» which I guess they’re not able to repair at their shop.
I have AppleCare, I have contacted Apple Support but not heard back yet. I know this isn’t a huge issue and isn’t keeping me from using the phone but I use iMessage and FT to keep in touch with my family overseas.
I’m so annoyed. The store won’t take it as a return since it’s not a mechanical issue. This is my first time buying myself a brand new iPhone I just want it to work properly.
Would changing my number help? I haven’t tried that yet.
Any suggestions are appreciated. I’m 9 months pregnant and my pregnancy rage can’t handle this much longer :(
