I’ve been an RBT for about 8 months now and I’ve had the same client since I started, but I feel as though the case is outside of my competency.

My client is a 15 year old male who has very difficult behaviors to work around and it’s limiting the progress I’m able to make with him. I don’t know how to work around these behaviors and the BCBA hasn’t been very helpful in pointing me in the right direction either. My biggest hold up with leaving the case is honestly just how it will affect him. My client and I have paired really well and he’s grown to be very attached to me, but I just don’t have the skills, competency, or guidance needed to help him any further.
