Is my birthday/am I cursed?
Hi! As the title states, I think I or my birthday might be cursed. Obviously that is an oversimplification, but every year without fail something happens on my birthday or the day that my plans fall on that ruins them. Either I get sick (autoimmune disorder), a partner or friend acts out and makes the day about themselves, or last minute no one is able to come and I spend it alone.
This year I turned 30 and really wanted to make sure I had a special milestone birthday so I did all the planning, decorating, gift bags, cupcakes. Out of the 6 friends I invited, 2 showed up. My best friend of 10 years being 1 of 2 to come, excluded me the entire night and made me the third wheel, leaving me alone at the bar at one point, and my other best friend had told me they wouldn’t be able to come because they had a busy week ahead but then was posting themselves get drinks with another friend that same weekend.
I’m at the point where I feel like my birthday has a curse or predetermining factors surrounding it that causes it to be a disappointment. Then there are individuals I know (one of the friends mentioned above) who every year for their birthday their friends all gather and do something special? So why is the same never done for me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
