3 weeks post op- I’d like your opinion

I’m 3 weeks post laparoscopic myomectomy and having pain near my bikini line/lower abdomen, mostly on the left side. What’s weird is that I don’t think it’s directly where my internal stitches are.

The pain:
• gets worse when sitting, standing, or lying on my back
• improves when lying on my side
• is usually okay right after waking up, but after about 10 minutes upright the pain starts building
• feels associated with swelling on the left side of my tummy (not a distinct lump, more diffuse swelling)
• doesn’t go away with advil or Tylenol

No major redness or obvious incision infection. Just persistent positional pain/swelling.

I’ve already been to my surgeon and saw a physiotherapist, but no one seems concerned and I still don’t understand what’s causing it.

Has anyone had something similar after laparoscopic myomectomy? Did it end up being muscle healing, nerve irritation, hematoma/seroma, hernia, adhesions, etc.? Or do you think I need to get a US scan or something?

Would really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Thank you

Persistent Pain After Lap Myomectomy

Hi,

I’m two weeks post-op from a laparoscopic myomectomy and I’m still needing painkillers. I went to the ER yesterday and was sent home with more medication. Has this happened to anyone else? What did your recovery timeline look like, and what do you think I should do next?

Thank you

Is This Normal Healing After Laparoscopic Myomectomy?

Hi everyone, I’m 12 days post op from a laparoscopic myomectomy. My incisions seem to be healing well overall, and I still have a little spotting every day, which I was told can happen.

What’s worrying me is a painful area about 2-3 cm toward the center of my abdomen from my left pelvic incision. It still hurts, especially when I’m sitting, walking, or turning while sleeping. When I touch the area, it feels a bit hard/swollen and slightly numb.

My doctor prescribed Voltaren, and I’ve been taking it, but I still feel pain there even with the medication.

For those who’ve had a laparoscopic myomectomy, is this normal during healing? If it’s part of healing, what helped support the area or make movement more comfortable?

Thank you
