A dumb, useless but also interesting observation I made

I find it really interesting how 2024 and 2027 feel almost like complete opposites when it comes to the tones of the DB projects and Toriyama’s involvement with them.

In 2024, on the game side, Sparking Zero basically had 0 involvement from Toriyama, while on the anime side Daima had a big involvement from him.

However, in 2027 it’s the opposite. We’ve been told that XV3 had major involvement from him, while the Galactic Patrol arc anime (and yeah, I know the Moro arc isn’t from 2027, but I’m mostly talking about the anime) is mostly Toyotaro’s baby, even if Toriyama still designed some characters and concepts.

Both Daima and XV3 (from what the trailers showed so far) start relatively low‑stake and are mostly slice‑of‑life, while the Galactic Patrol arc and Sparking Zero (I mean… duh) are much more action‑oriented throughout.

Also, and I know this is a stretch, but I find it interesting how chronologically Daima is the first "modern" DB story, while as of now XV3 is the last. (I know Fusions technically goes further, but I’m not sure if I should count that one.)

Anyway, this is just a fun and harmless observation about how these two years kind of parallel each other. It’s definitely a coincidence, not some deep theory connecting all four projects. And again, I’m assuming the Galactic Patrol arc anime will air in 2027, since there still isn’t a confirmed release date.

Hey everyone, I’ve had ideas for my Dragon Ball OCs (mostly my XV2 CaCs) for a long time, but I’ve always struggled with actually writing their backstories in a structured way. Most of what I have is just loose concepts and half‑formed ideas in my head.

With the reveal of XV3 and the confirmation that Age 1000 is the main Timeline of the game, I suddenly feel way more motivated to finally commit to writing their backgrounds properly. Age 1000 has always been the timeline I imagined for my CaCs anyway, so seeing it officially highlighted again gave me the push I needed to start taking their stories seriously.

So I wanted to ask for some advice: How do you usually begin when writing OC backstories? Do you outline first, start with personality, build around key events, or something else entirely?

Thanks in advance!
