Got offer not too happy with, signed current employer came back with counter
After months of searching for new job while employed at a not so great place over all ( boss is great and peers are good folks but owner is crazy)…I got an offer from a new place. Problem is, they dragged me on forever , would tell me they would decide by x day then contact me 2 days later to tell me still working on it …they did this twice. Also They didn’t quite meet my salary expectations on the offer. I told the HR, if I have the 2 direct reports (which I didn’t want) then I want $120-$130k; no reports $115 and I was going to have a nice lady manager who I thought was cool. When offer came in, it was $115 with 1 direct reports and now reporting to another guy as they did last minute restructuring. Not happy but the pay bump from standard job is $25k more. I’ve signed the offer with some hesitation. Also, there could be some legalities taking this new one.
Now my current nice boss who I love says she will seek for a counter/ match for me. I am considering it now. I know this can bring a new set of challenges at current place but I feel it can buy me some time to look for better fit job plus I get a bump in $. What are your thoughts?
