Shifts in who we blame for all thats wrong with housing?

I've been looking at buying (first home buyer) for the past year, every weekend going out checking out 3-4-5-6 properties, and one thing I'm noticing more and more, is the visceral hatred from first home buyers towards investors. You hear comments all the time, and some prospective buyers couldnt give a fuck if an investor heard them, in fact i think they want them to know they hate them.

And tbh, I kinda get it - i've lived in shit rentals for 15 years. Most property investors i've engaged with as landlords don't respect the person living in their property and you feel more like a dollar sign than a human being with rights.

And obviously hatred towards landlords isn't new, but it kind of feels different - this hatred isn't towards boomers but property investors in their 40's and 50's as a new 'class'. Is there a shift from generational hatred (boomers) back to a class of people (investors).

Thoughts?
