Cheap QD-OLED or Premium Tandem OLED?

I’m planning to buy my first OLED monitor (upgrade from IPS monitor) and I want this to be a long-term purchase (probably 5+ years), so I’m debating whether I should just get the cheapest good OLED option or spend more for something premium.

My use case:

  • Architecture modeling + rendering (SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, CAD, etc.)
  • I work mostly in a BRIGHT room during daytime
  • I also play AAA games sometimes
  • I really appreciate visuals, HDR, colors, contrast, and overall image quality
  • Text clarity and long work-session comfort matter too

The monitors I’m considering are:

  • Samsung Odyssey G5 QD-OLED 27” (~P22k)
  • MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 27” (~P31k)
  • Gigabyte MO27Q28G Tandem WOLED 27” (~P39k)
  • ASUS ROG XG27AQWMG Tandem OLED 27” (~P41k)

I know QD-OLED usually has better color volume and more vibrant colors, but I’ve also read that glossy QD-OLEDs can struggle in bright rooms because blacks can look gray/purple with reflections.

Meanwhile, the Gigabyte and ASUS tandem WOLEDs seem brighter and better for daytime use, especially the Gigabyte because of the matte coating.

For people who do both productivity + gaming:

  • Is the cheaper Samsung already “good enough”?
  • Is the MSI the sweet spot?
  • Or is it actually worth going premium for the Gigabyte/ASUS if I’m planning to keep it long-term?

Would really appreciate opinions from people who use OLEDs for BOTH work and gaming, especially in bright rooms.
