Morning all!

Sorry if this question has been asked, but has anyone developed a productive method of reaching out to professionals in a field you're researching for a character? For example, let's say my protagonist is a bioanalyst and I know nothing about what that profession looks like on a day-to-day basis. Have you successfully cold emailed an expert to discuss their job and background? If so, how did you find the expert and what did your email to them look like?

Also, this is for a spec script, so I can't send an email intriguing them by saying, "I'm writing this for so-and-so." Thanks in advance!
