Suddenly don’t want to eat
I was diagnosed in early June (A1c was 11). I was put on metformin immediately, and got in with an endo immediately. I was also put on insulin and got a CGM fairly quickly. Having the CGM immediately definitely made the diagnosis easier, as I learned in real time what caused a spike and what didn’t. At first I thought eating and planning meals would be a chore, and of course to a degree it is, but honestly not as bad as I first imagined. Many of the foods I already ate are actually fine, and the things that aren’t I’ve been ok cutting out OR finding a way to have a bit without causing a spike.
Honestly, I expect my next A1c to be around 6 (using the data from my CGM, which I often test is accurate to a finger stick). And I’ve done this without feeling like I’m making huge food sacrifices.
That being said, suddenly the past week or so I just do not want to eat at all. Not “I don’t want to eat healthy and I want to eat junk”, but don’t want to eat anything. I barely even notice hunger. I’m just wondering if anyone else has gone through this scenario? I’m basically just forcing myself to eat the bare minimum so I can take my metformin, but it’s not enjoyable. I’ve also tried taking edibles, as those would normally give me the munchies, but nada. Helppp.
