Butcher plans a complete genocide of all Superheroes despite most of them being groomed from birth and having no choice in becoming them. No one takes any exception to this and their concern is mainly with Annie or Kimiko dying as a result. This is a reference to the show being spiritually Israeli
Joke title, but on a serious note, compare this to the comics which everyone dogs on.
In the comics, when Butcher reveals he’s planning to do Total Superhero Death, The Boys take exception to this, believing that there are SOME who are innocent out there who will die as a result. This is despite the fact that most of the Superheroes they encounter in the comic are extremely one-note, irredeemably fucked up people.
In the show, when Butcher reveals he’s planning to do Total Superhero Death, literally no one cares. There’s 0 moral questioning over this. The only concern is that Kimiko and Annie might die because, apparently, they’re the only two superheroes on earth worth living. This is despite the fact that the show goes through insane lengths to make even the most fucked up Supes complex, almost sympathetic, characters.
Remember that raven girl from earlier in the season? I honestly thought that was going to develop into something deeper. Like MM says, hey, I remember this young girl who I saved being used by Vought. Does she deserve to die? This plan is fucked up. We have to stop Butcher. (He did think this, but for a single episode to stop her from being tested on by the virus THEN. He seemingly doesn’t give a shit what happens after)
